An Ancient View of Mesa Verde
Overlooking the canyons of Mesa Verde, the stars put on a show across the Colorado sky.
Photo Story
Episode 3: Halfway through my 3,000 mile tour of Colorado, Utah and Idaho for Season One, I had the wonderful opportunity to camp overnight at Mesa Verde and take in the brilliance of the Anasazi people during the day and the illuminated stars at night. As I stood on the edge of the canyon at the Southern tip of the Step House overlook, I imagined sharing the view with generations of people who lived here hundreds and thousands of years ago. With the exception of some distant glow from a town on the horizon, the sky was magnificently dark.
